About Us

MISSION STATEMENT: JAAPA is the peer-reviewed clinical journal of the American Academy of Physician Assistants. Its mission is to support the ongoing education and advancement of PAs by publishing current information and research on clinical, health policy, and professional issues.

JAAPA's award-winning editorial includes clinical review articles (with AAPA-approved Category I CME in each issue), case reports, clinical departments, original health services research, and articles on issues of professional interest to PAs. In addition to a print journal published monthly, JAAPA content is available on the Web site and mobile site, where users can access the contents of the print journal plus various additional articles that are published online-only. These include clinical reviews, surgical reviews, case reports, and clinical departments chosen for their teaching value (such as Case of the Month and Interpreting ECGs). The Web site also features blogs and links to a range of online resources useful to practicing PAs. Content is updated each business day, and registered users may sign up for e-newsletters to stay informed about new postings. Also available online: issue archives, guidelines for authors seeking to submit a manuscript, currently active CME, drug information, and current medical news.
