JAAPA, the award-winning peer-reviewed clinical journal of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, seeks an editor in chief starting July 1, 2011. Qualifications: (1) current certification as a PA; (2) current member of AAPA; (3) in clinical practice (full-time or part-time) or a history of having practiced; (4) experience as a writer/editor; (5) experience as an educator as well as a history of and commitment to advancing PA scholarship and professional publication. Primary duties: (1) write at least six editorials each year; (2) solicit guest commentaries, review unsolicited commentaries, and work with authors to develop a publishable manuscript; and (3) take on other specific reviewing, writing, and department editor roles appropriate to expertise and interest. Other duties: work with the editor and/or editorial board members on a range of activities directed at maintaining the high level of quality JAAPA readers expect.
