CASE

A 44-year-old African American female came to our office for evaluation of a mole on her left trunk. She stated the lesion would bleed when her bra rubbed against it. She was unsure how long it had been present. The 1.5 1.2-cm lesion was black in color with an irregular contour and a somewhat matte appearance (Figure 1). The lesion did not have scale, and it did not feel rough. The left side of the lesion was bleeding and appeared to be ulcerated.
